1939

Edinburgh and Glasgow had applied to join the National League but were refused on the grounds that is would be to expensive for teams to travel north form meetings. The Scottish clubs were included in the Union Cup as an experiment to determine the costs of travel. The competition was abandoned on the outbreak of world war two. American Cordy Milne won the Marine Gardens Track Championship his fellow countryman Wilbur Lamoreaux won the Scottish Championships. The final meeting of the season a best pairs event was won by Oliver Hart and Jack Hyland.
