For 1962 Neath folded and new track St Austell joined. Other absentees were Bradford and Leicester who both ran into financial difficulties. Newcomers to the league were Long Eaton who returned to Speedway after tean years. Hackney and Rayleigh now under new ownership returned after missing 1962. The league was won by Wolverhampton but controversy would be made when they refused promotion to the National league this would lead to the Provincal League in 1964 running outside the control of the Speedway Control Board.
