Northern League

Northern League 1929-1931
The Northern League was founded in 1929 when it was known as the English Dirt Track League. Along with the Southern League it is the oldest Speedway league in the history of the sport. Set up for teams in the north of England the inclussion of Edinburgh and Glasgow in 1930 promoted the name change. The League was amalgamated with the Southern League to form the National League in 1932
