Open meetings were raced in 1928 and the following year they first competed in the Southern League as Lea Bridge and were based at Lea Bridge Stadium, Leyton, London. In 1932 they entered the National League were known as Clapton Saints until 1933. In 1934 the control board closed removed them fronm the championship with their fixtures being taken over by Walhamstow. In 1935 the stadium was used at a training track for Wembley. 1938 saw the return of league racing with the Lea Bridge Cubs competing in the National League Second Division. 1939 saw the track used for training but the venue was never again used for competition. |
