1970 World Championship

British qualifications consisted of 32 rounds where riders raced in 3 rounds rach. The top 32 riders then raced in the British Semi Finals with the top 8 from each event going throught to the final. The top 8 then progressed to the British Nordic Final. They were joined by 8 riders from the Scandinavian Final. Swedish riders contested 4 qualifying rounds with 8 riders from each meeting going to the Semi finals. 4 riders from each of these meetings progressed into the Scandinavian Final where they were joined by rider from Nrway, Denmark and Finland.
The Continental rounds were made up of 4 quarter finals with 8 riders from each moving into the semi finals then the top 16 racing in the Continental Final with the top 8 qualying for the European Final
The Polish qualification rounds consisted of 2 groups of 16 riders competing in 3 rounds. The top 8 riders from group A then faced the bottom 8 riders from Group B and the Top 8 from group B faced the bottom 8 from group A in 3 more qualification rounds. The top 16 riders 8 from each group then raced in 8 rounds with the top 6 riders qualifying for the
