Edinburgh and Glasgow had applied to join the National League but were refused on the grounds that is would be to expensive for teams to travel north form meetings. The Scottish clubs were included in the Union Cup as an experiment to determine the costs of travel. The competition was abandoned on the outbreak of world war two. |
