Began racing on 80cc machines and captained Denmark at that level.Also an Under-21 international.Joined Monarchs for the last few matches of 1992 as a replacement for Johnny Jorgensen. Didn't return in 1993 but rejoined for 1994 and had a fine year. After deciding to stay home in 1995, he changed his mind at the last minute and returned to Monarchs for the first Premier league season, carrying the team from reserve in the early weeks. His form wasn't quite so good after moving in to the team proper, and finished the season on the injured list.Not in Monarchs' starting lineup for 1996, he eventually teamed up with brother Brian at Coventry and did well. Missed 1997 in the UK, returned with Peterborough in 1998 and captained the Premier League winning team, although he did finish on the injured list with a broken hip. Stayed with the Panthers in the Elite League in 1999, but gained a 5.5 average which made it difficult to find either an Elite or Premier berth in 2000. Ipswich gave him a few matches at the end of the season which served to lower his average and give him the chance to return to Edinburgh for 2001.During 2001 he scored consistently well, including a 20 point score at Berwick, finishing with an average around 8. However he suffered a number of injuries during the season, the cumulative effect of which have caused his retirement from the sport. Said goodbye to the Monarchs' support with a highly successful and enjoyable benefit, the Farewell Hoedown, at Armadale on 19/4/2002. Like many from his country, a good gater with well-maintained machinery, and a very popular personality. |
