report from the Daily Record
STEWART Dickson hailed his Glasgow Tigers side after they secured a first win since May in the first leg of the Scottish Cup against rivals Edinburgh Monarchs.
The Tigers roared to a 58-35 victory at Ashfield which sets them up nicely for the second leg later this month.
And Dickson, who only returned to the club last month to replace Sean Courtney, beamed: "Twenty-three points - we would have taken that before the meeting, superb.
"We hit them hard, that was the plan, and we got our just rewards.
"I think the fans have been waiting long enough for it so it was pleasing in that respect."

Former Glasgow favourites Josh Grajczonek and David Bellego returned as guests and both scored double figures as the home team ran out 58-35 winners.
Joey Ringwood again impressed at reserve, beaten once by a visitor in an 11-point haul.
Edinburgh were forced to battle without top man Craig Cook - who had a virus - and with two guests at reserve.
And while Matthew Wethers, in place of Cook, as well as former Tiger Theo Pijper, fared well, only three points in total from previously impressive performers Derek Sneddon and Jozsef Tabaka let the visitors' down.
Dickson paid tribute to his guest duo with Grajzconek in at number one for injured captain Joe Screen.
He said: "Josh Grajzconek did like for like what Joe Screen should do; David Bellego came in and certainly have us a help - I'm not going to kid on it didn't make a difference.
"But you look through our own riders' scores as well - very impressive.
"We got race wins from Joey Ringwood, James Grieves, Dakota North, Henning Bager, and Joe Jacobs had a good meeting, so we've all chipped in."
