| The first speedway event held in Edinburgh was a demonstation event given by American Sprouts Elder. A week later another demonstation was given by featuring Ivor Creek and Stewie St George. These events must have been a sucess because on the 8th May Messrs Smith Fletcher & Co. Ltd., of High Street Edinburgh began to erect chain link fencing at the Marine Gardens and the construction of a dirt racing track was begun. |
